Some news, some history, some Adrenalisms...

Cameron Greenwood Benefit 3/20/10

Harwinton, CT was hopping on March 20. The community came out in droves to support Cameron Greenwood, a seventh grader at Har-Bur Middle School with bone cancer. A benefit pasta supper and raffle was held at Harwinton Consolidated School. Adrenaline supplied to the music. We wish you a speedy recovery. To help support Cameron Greenwood, lick the link below.

Jammin for Jamie 2/19/10

The Jammin for Jamie event at Nuchies Restaurant in Bristol, CT  was a huge success. Jamie Botteon, age 16, was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) on Dec 15, 2009. Our hats go off to  Lauren Botteon, Bridgette Donahue, and Alisa Mello for organizing this super fund raiser to help her family with medical and other expenses. About 600 well wishers crammed into this 400 seat venue and everyone ate heaps of Nuchies' pasta supper.  After the food and silent auction, some tables got folded up to make room for the dance floor. Jamie was not well enough to attend, but she texted from her hospital room and told everyone to "dance"! Adrenaline played their hearts out. Get well soon Jamie.

Vice/Versa CD on itunes 2/12/10

Adrenaline's sophmore CD, Vice/Versa is now up on itunes. The title, Vice/Versa, represents the many sides of our genre that are touched on as you listen through the album. Each song takes a new stance within the realm of alternative rock. We think we have progressed musically from "Broken Clocks", our debut CD, which we put out in in November, 2008. Each of us has improved as musicians over the past year. We also tried to progress in our song writing - with intelligently placed hooks and catchy rhythms, and more sophisticated harmonies.  Vive/Versa was recorded at Aliehn Studios in Bristol, CT for Sling Slang Records.

BandJam 2010

High school students who are in garage bands, of any style or musical genre, outside of school are invited to submit an application plus an audition recording with two songs (originals or covers) by April 9, 2010.

All members must be currently enrolled in a CAS member high school, (check with a teacher or principal) however, band members do not all need to be enrolled in the same high school.

In Anaheim CA 1/17/10

1/17/10 - Back to the NAMM Show in the morning, then on to Disneyland. Space Mountain here we come.

1/16/10 -  9:00 AM sound check then on to a tour of the John Lennon Bus. This portable music studio promotes musical creativity in schools by helping students write their own music, perform it, and create a music video. The School Jam USA concert went from 2:00 - 7:00. "Aftermath" took first place with their amazing harmonies and great song writing. Adrenaline did not win, but we had a blast and felt honored to be included with the high level of musicianship at this show. The concert was awesome - great music, great sound, great people. It was also fun for Jack and Mike to spend time with their aunts, uncle and cousins from southern CA, who all turned out to see the show. Watch the video.

1/15/10 - Adrenaline was featured on a the Channel 3 TV "Cool Schools" Segment. The band was chosen by Lewis Mills High School  to represent one of the things they are most proud of - that makes their school really cool. The news broadcast can be viewed at the WFSB Channel 3 website http://www.wfsb.com/video/22248373/index.html.  This strong support from home gave us a boost of energy for playing the show tomorrow. We spent most of the day at the NAMM Show. It is like being in the biggest Music Store in the world. Jack tried out 15 different cymbals. So many people...

1/14/10 - We rolled out of bed way too early to catch the 6:00 AM flight to Anaheim.  American Airlines let us bring a guitar, base, and 2 pedals onto the plane - rock and roll poses no security threat. The hotel is really nice, with a view right into Disneyland. The School Jam USA Welcome Reception was at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, with an amazing arcade of games. We spent some time getting to know the other bands.

Finalists for School Jam USA 12/26/09

Adrenaline will be flying to Anaheim California as a finalist in the SchoolJam USA music competition. The competition will be held at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, which is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors. The contest will take place Saturday, January 16 and will feature 10 high school bands from around the country. The band members' high school music departments and the competing bands will both benefit by receiving music equipment as prize winnings.

Adrenaline submitted songs for review by a panel of judges and was selected as one of 50 semi-finalists. Each band had fans voting daily over the internet  resulting in 2 finalists from each of five regions in the country. Over 115,000 votes were cast.

Drummer Jack Johnson states " We're really excited to be going to the west coast for this contest. And we're really grateful to all of our fans who supported us in the online voting."

Adrenaline will get passes into the NAMM Show and hopefully get to listen to some of the other great musicians who play there. They will also get a tour of the Lennon Recording Bus.
Following the battle of the bands there will be a concert by the Dares. The outdoor concert will be free and open to the public.

The winners will be determined by a panel of judges including - Michael Blakeslee - MENC National Association of Music Education, Steve Dobo - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dominic Pohlman - SchoolJam Germany, and Rob Davidson - VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

Epoch Arts 12/18/09 (Night)

Adrenaline played at Epoch Arts in East Hampton, CT on 12/18/09, with their friends, "The Tension" and "Naked Sunday". Epoch Arts hosts a monthly showcase of Connecticut's best youth music acts. Epoch Arts is staffed by friendly, outgoing people that let us eat our pizza in their kitchen. With their professional sound and lighting crew, it provides a great place for the area's top young talent to share their original music with the surrounding community. The Epoch Arts' goal is to provide a safe artistic environment where youth can come and listen to some of Connecticut's up and rising musicians - what a great goal.

School Jam USA 11/12/09

Adrenaline is one of ten Northeast Region high school bands selected as a semi-finalist in the School Jam USA Battle of the Bands. This Battle of the Bands is sponsored by NAMM as part of their foundation's efforts to get more people playing music. Adrenaline was selected as a semi-finalist based on a recording they submitted from their soon to be released Vice/Versa CD. All styles of original music were eligible. After the first week of on-line voting, they are one of the top two Northeast Region bands. The on-line voting decides which two bands from each of five regions, will be invited to the Battle of the Bands in Anaheim, CA  in January 2010. School Jam USA also helps the winning bands'  school music program . Voting is open until Dec 5, 2009 at  schooljamusa.com.

Bristol Press 11/4/09

What wonderful press we received this week in both the Bristol Press and the New Britain Herold. James Drzewiecki, staff writer, wrote an article about Adrenaline being North East Region Semi-Finalists in the School Jam USA Battle of the Bands. With that kind of local support we have a much better chance of making it to California to play in the final round.

Group Effort 10/18/09

Putting a new CD out is an amazing group effort. Adrenaline recorded their music at Aliehn  Studios in Bristol, CT with technical wizard, Scott Generaux, as the recording engineer. Sling Slang Records produced the CD.  Kristen Aldieri shot the CD photos - all those amazing balloon shots. We had to select just one to go on the inside cover. The creative Emile Dube produced the cover art, using graphic design to communicate the inverse ideas that flow through the music. Words, graphics, and photography were merged together by John Johnson. Now it is sent off to Diskmakers for production.

Up Or On the Rocks 10/11/09

The 104.1 Battle of the Bands has been moved from The Warehouse to Up Or On the Rocks in Hartford, CT.  Adrenaline is set to play their second round on Oct 22. This is an over 21 club.

Webster Main Stage 9/19/09

Lots of bobbing heads surging up front -  the main stage is really fun. Adrenaline played mostly our new stuff from the Vice/Versa CD, along with our crowd pleasing favorite, "Glass".  Cam's throbbing base could be felt by the whole room. Dylan ditched his guitar for the last song and just let his lead vocals shine through.

Fight Back 6/13/09

The walkers wore such beautiful smiles - celebrating life, remembering loved ones. What a pleasure to add a little music to their day at the Plainville, CT Relay for Life. Adrenaline played on a tractor trailer truck bed, under a tent, on the edge of the relay track. People kept flowing by, many with signs or displays. This event raises funds to fight cancer.

Band Slam 5/2/09

The JCC Mandell Band Slam, in West Hartford, CT  was a steep learning curve for us. This is our first time taking part in an "Idol" type event. Wow, the judges are harsh. It is pretty uncomfortable taking the critique on stage and in public ... and they liked us. The judges confirm Mike plays like a young Eddie Van Halen. "Adrenaline" - First Place winners- Yeah! Zuko, you did a great job as MC.

He writes about Adrenaline "They might be thought of as the Foo Fighter meets Incubus with some Chili Peppers on the side, but there is no question that Adrenaline, a local rock band, is finding their own sound and everyone seems to be noticing."  Thank you James.
